Tillie: "We stayed calm and focused"

Varna, Bulgaria, June 16, 2018 – France stayed calm and focused against Olympic champions Brazil to win in straight sets at the FIVB Volleyball Nations League on Saturday.

France coach Laurent Tillie: “We made a really great game against Brazil. I am happy with the way my boys played. We stayed calm and focused when we had to and that was the key to our success."

France captain Benjamin Toniutti: “I am very happy with the way we played at this tournament. We played really good and this 3-0 win against Brazil proved it. That is a really good preparation for us for the Final Six. We understand that for the moment we have to be patient, but we are happy with this second success and we hope to end the competition with three wins.”

Brazil coach Renan Dal Zotto: “In all three sets we fought until the last point but France were better in these moments. We lost two games in a row but it is our first experience in this kind of competition that is extremely intense and hard. All the matches are important. We expect a difficult match against Bulgaria.”

Brazil captain Bruno Rezende: “They played better than us and they deserved to win. We lost because they were simply better. We had the same problem against Canada and today against France it was even worse. We played bad in the final parts of the sets. I just don’t know what happened. I want to go and talk to my team-mates because I think our heads are not clear. Now we must win against Bulgaria, for sure it will be a tough match against an opponent with a different style and aggressive serve.”
