Players celebrate a Finals to remember

Lille, France, July 11, 2018 – The inaugural edition of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League ended with a bang in Lille on Sunday with the world's top players celebrating their participation in the new event.

On social media, Men's Finals MVP Maxim Mikhaylov posted a photo of winners Russia celebrating their victory.

He also invited fans to a live session on Instagram with an autographed jersey going to the most interesting question.

Another Russian in the Finals Dream Team, Dmitriy Muserskiy poured his emotions into a post on Facebook, ending with the words "VNL 2018, I will miss you!"

France proved to be great hosts of the Finals in Lille. The home fans stood by their favourites all the way through the final. And even in defeat, the French players were proud of their effort, thanking their enthusiastic supporters for their energy and faith.

The bronze medallists from USA were also happy to be on the historic podium.

But for Taylor Sander the medal was even more special. He had missed the earlier stages of the VNL for a good reason – he and his wife were expecting their first child. And little Atli arrived in time for his father to rejoin the team for the Finals and win that bronze!
