Ivovic’s entry stabilised our reception, says Grbic

Kraljevo, Serbia, May 26, 2018 – Serbia coach Nikola Grbic highlighted Marko Ivovic’s presence steadied their reception, as they rallied from a set down to win 3-1 against Germany at the FIVB Volleyball Nations League on Saturday.

Serbia coach Nikola Grbic: “We suffered in the beginning of the match because of last night’s loss. Maybe we were a little bit nervous, but when Ivovic entered in the match we stabilised our reception. We served better than yesterday. We also reduced the number of errors. This means a lot to us and it is very important for the rest of the competition. I am glad that I could rest some players in this match.”

Serbia captain Marko Ivovic: “We had the same problem as yesterday, we were nervous. We tried to relax and in the end we were able to enjoy ourselves on the court. When we play relaxed, I am sure that we will be able to deal with our opponents easily.”

Germany coach Andrea Giani: “I think we started well with good energy and good quality of play, but during the match we didn’t have the capacity to stay on it. Maybe we didn’t have the patience to go all the way and the attitude of the players is also an issue. We have to work on that.”

Germany captain Lukas Kampa: “I think Serbia switched on the engine. We put some pressure on them but when they started to play, they revealed the difference in quality.”
