Goiania, Brazil, June 3, 2018 – Isac Santos came off the bench to help Brazil make an epic comeback against the United States at the Volleyball Nations League on Sunday.
Brazil coach Renan dal Zotto: “All we wanted was get three victories by the end of this week. We did not have much information about Japan and Korea, but we adapted well. This last match was way harder and we proved that we need every single player in our squad to achieve our goals. We were eager to win this match, even though we faced many difficulties especially in the second set. I am happy that we can count on each and every player in the team.”
Brazil player Isac Santos: “I did what the coach expected me to do. We knew that we must keep our side-out. I spiked, served and helped out with the block. This was my way to contribute to this good result today.”
USA player Aaron Russell: “They started to serve a lot better and this brought some difficulties to our game. They also did some changes with William and Isac coming in, they played very well. They were great choices by the coach. Overall, in the end it was even and I am proud of my team as we fought all the way.”
