The FIVB President met the President of the Autonomous Region of Madeira and visited the Volleyball Association of Madeira when in the region
He shared the FIVB’s achievements during his presidency while visiting the offices of the volleyball organisation
The FIVB President was awarded the tittle of Honorary Member of the Volleyball Association of Madeira.
FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° visited the Volleyball Association of Madeira and local government earlier this week while in Portugal.
During the visit, the FIVB President met the President of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, Dr Miguel Albuquerque, accompanied by the President of the Volleyball Association of Madeira Dr. Edgar Garrido with whom they discussed the development of volleyball around the world and in Portugal, with a special focus on Madeira.

Accompanied by the Secretary of the FIVB Rules of the Game and Refereeing Commission and the Merith Member of the Volleyball Association of Madeira Jose Casanova, the FIVB President also visited their offices, where he unveiled a plaque honouring his visit and had an opportunity to talk to the local volleyball community about the FIVB’s developments and innovations during his presidency.

The FIVB President shared updates related to major volleyball and beach volleyball events as well as the achievements in good governance, Volleyball Empowerment, digital innovation and other areas. He also shared more details about the partnership with CVC Capital Partners and creation of Volleyball World as well as the latest FIVB innovation, the launch of the FIVB Volleyball Foundation.

This was followed by the award ceremony, where several former players and coaches received the titles of Merith Members. The ceremony closed with the FIVB President being awarded the title of Honorary Member of the Volleyball Association of Madeira.
